About Berkeley Rep
Berkeley Repertory Theatre has grown from a storefront stage to a national leader in innovative theatre. Known for its core values of imagination and excellence, as well as its educated and adventurous audience, the nonprofit has provided a welcoming home for emerging and established artists since 1968. With two stages, a school and a Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre, Berkeley Rep is proud to premiere exhilarating new plays. In the last ten years, the company has helped send six shows to Broadway. Seven more landed off Broadway, one moved to London, two turned into films and others have toured the nation.
BRT's national reputation draws theatre artists from across the country, just like you, to work on a variety of productions produced throughout the calendar year, with the official season beginning each September. Berkeley Rep’s Artistic Director is Tony Taccone, and its Managing Director is Susie Medak.
Our Mission Statement
Berkeley Repertory Theatre seeks to set a national standard for ambitious programming, engagement with its audiences and leadership within the community in which it resides. We endeavor to create a diverse body of work that expresses a rigorous, embracing aesthetic and reflects the highest artistic standards, and seek to maintain an environment in which talented artists can do their best work. We strive to engage our audiences in an ongoing dialogue of ideas, and encourage lifelong learning as a core community value. Through productions, outreach and education, Berkeley Rep aspires to use theatre as a means to challenge, thrill and galvanize what is best in the human spirit.

BRT Comp Policy
The following is a summary of Berkeley Rep’s policy for company ticket privileges and walk-ins. If you have any questions, please contact the box office at email@example.com.
Comps – All staff/cast are entitled to TWO comps per production while you are employed with Berkeley Rep. An email regarding your comps will be sent 4-5 weeks prior to opening of each production. If you do not receive an email, please check with the box office. Comps are generally good for the first three weeks of the run including opening night, except matinees and subject to availability. Some black-out dates or special restrictions may apply. Please reference individual comp emails for deadlines and restrictions. You may change your request as long as you provide the box office with 24 hours notice before the performance requested. If you provide less than 24 hours, your comps may be forfeited for that show.
Discounted tickets – For most shows, all staff/cast/overhire are entitled to purchase FOUR discounted tickets during the first three weeks of the run not including opening. You, the staff/cast member, must reserve the tickets, but tickets may be paid for in advance by your guest – no CODs. Discounted tickets may be purchased directly from the box office.
Walk-ins – As a company member, you may walk in to any production running while you are employed with Berkeley Rep. This applies only to performances for which seating is available at curtain time. Walk-ins apply to you alone--guest walk-ins will not be granted. We recommend arriving at least fifteen minutes before the curtain. Enter through the courtyard gate and find the House Manager. If you don’t know the House Manager, please introduce yourself and let them know what production or department you are with. If a show is sold out, there is no guarantee that you will have a seat. Walk-ins are based on availability and are granted at the discretion of the HM; do not go to the box office.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation, and as always, if you have any questions or concerns regarding any of these policies, don’t hesitate to contact firstname.lastname@example.org.

Berkeley Parents Network is a great resource for parents to have in the Bay Area. From people asking for help for a good pediatrician to help finding a last minute babysitter, the possibilities are endless!
Bannasbunch is a great resource for families to have. It is kind of like care.com with childcare referrals and lots of helpful resources like childcare options and different providers that members have used in the past.
Care.com is a great way to find a local babysitter or nanny that can assist just on weekends, during the day, or whenever you need them. There are a ton of options and all the providers are required to provide references that you can contact. There are many choices and many parents will ask for an interview with the babysitter before agreeing to a schedule.
Dotties Daycare is a small family daycare that specializes in infants and toddlers. A great place to arrange to leave your baby for the day while you are in rehearsal. The yelp reviews are particularly favorable.
Avid4Adventure is a summer camp that can either be a day camp or an overnight camp. Focusing on getting kids outdoors and in nature, it’s a great way for your child to explore the Bay Area.
